Animepedia:How not to be overwhelmed
From Animepedia
This guide is on how not to be overwhelmed by how esoteric the project is. It's a recommended guide for new users as it helps summarize some of the technical or overwhelming things on many Wikia ACG wiki in simple terms.
- There is someone here to help.
- This is the biggest thing to remember, you are never alone. If you are having issues you can always ask for an explanation of something. If there are no active users around who look like they can help you, feel free to ask anyone, even the project's founder Dantman is open for you to ask for help.
- It's especially helpful if you ask for answers on questions because it helps others improve the project guides to help other users from encountering the same confusion.
- Naming can be strange.
- Yes, the titling of articles on the top-level Wikia ACG wiki can be confusing. Again, if you are confused, then ask. Check the List of Anime for existing series that already have a prefix to use in article names. If you don't know what prefix to use, then ask another user how to title an article.
- Wikipedia is your starting point.
- We like to start our articles from Wikipedia ones. This way we have all the information that others already worked on, and it's not as overwhelming to start an article. The guides aren't that good but we have How to copy from Wikipedia and Step-by-step guide to a Wikipedia base that we're working on turning into good resources to help you solve confusion. But you can always ask someone else to copy a set of articles for you.
