[edit] Escaflowne

I am so sorry T-T I didn't realize that we had to tell you if we were going to make a new page T-T

Anyway I have (accidentally) started the new page, The Vision Of Escaflowne. I have been a huge fan of it and really wanted to make a page on it! So I have started it and was going to apply the characters and story later after I applied an image of it ... I have worked on wikipedia and other wiki's just I kinda thought it was opened to others ... I'm sorry.

Delete it if you want but I would like to continue it

Thanks for reading

Ryu 11:23, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Edit: Thank you And I just thought we could just delete the character's info on the page and set up another page since that story is complex and the characters are as well. I would like to start and make pages for the characters. Thank you and I will merge my info with the main page so you can delete it.

[edit] Logo

Hi Daniel! Great to see the problem with logos is finally solved! Kasuga is a very well known high level artist, Animepedia is very lucky to have him drawing the logo. Can you perhaps delete my old attempts now? It's no need for them anymore, and it's kinda embarrassing to see them next to the works of a real master. Thanks in advance! --Radaghast 14:12, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

lol, ok. If you want, you could vectorize images... I did create Image:Kasuga sample - vectorized.svg, but that's nothing but a trace done by Inkscape. You're far better than me at vectorizing, and having good vectorized images would be nice, as it makes it easy to change things, and makes them more scalable (^_^ Even though Kasuga's are already large enough in resolution). ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Jan 6, 2008 @ 14:29 (UTC)

[edit] Episode infobox

I'm starting to put up some episode summaries and noticed there wasn't an episode infobox. Could you make one, or do I have the ability to make one and just not know it? If so, how do I make one? Thnx :D Katie5000 02:44, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: well, none of the anime series on Wikipedia seem to have episode guides, but I looked at those for Family Guy and The Simpsons (which are obviously animated but not Japanese). Anyway, a basic episode infobox could have the following: episode name, original (i.e. Japanese) episode name (when applicable), image, image caption, episode number, production code (if applicable), original airdate, writer, director, and lastly the season or arc that the episode belongs to. I hope that's good enough. ^^; Katie5000 02:04, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Re: infobox--Exellent parameters.:) Y'know, it didn't occur to me to look in wikipedia's "templates" section, for some reason. But now I see they have quite a number of infoboxes. Anyway, this'll be good because the box will sort the page into the right category. Katie5000 03:16, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

Hello, I would like to contribute to this wikia, and perhaps become an administrator, any advice? Thanks. Cheers. DragonBallZ 16:56, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Japanese anime wikia comes here

Hi,

I moved previous ja.gundam to ja.anime. Tommy6 is the adomin for ja.anime. I already made interlinks between ja.anime and others including en.anime. Please contact with him if you have a question about Japanese animation.

Thanks!

[edit] Wikia ACG

I am getting ready to adopt the manga wiki. Around a year ago, I saw you asked the founder if he wanted the wiki to become part of Wikia ACG. Are you still open for that? DragonBallZ 10:57, 15 February 2008 (EST)

Yes, the intention was to adopt the manga wiki into Wikia ACG at one point. The whole reason for rejecting any Manga content on here was to put that there instead of here. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 16, 2008 @ 05:01 (UTC)
So once I adopt it, it can become a part of Wikia ACG? DragonBallZ 05:11, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Yup, I can even help you adopt it if you want. Though, I need to fix a few bugs in my bots before I can sync over the templates, a number of other new Wikia ACG wiki are also missing them. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 16, 2008 @ 05:22 (UTC)
I put in a request with the staff to make me a sysop. I mentioned that if it becomes part of Wikia ACG, that you might also need to be a sysop. Perhaps it would be easier syncing if you were one? Would you like me to put in a request for you also? Because I will probably need help with it if you are willing? DragonBallZ 05:32, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Actually, sysop is a requirement. There are a number of things I need to edit to setup a Wikia ACG wiki that require sysop privileges. Another important one is a bot flag for AnimeBot, as that is the bot that would flood the rc when things are first synced. And Sysop for AnimeBotSys. But quite simply, all you need to do is request Bureaucrat status for yourself, and Bot status for AnimeBot. After that you can simply give me the Sysop and Bureaucrat rights with the Makesysop form, and I can give the other bot the rights it needs. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Feb 16, 2008 @ 05:47 (UTC)
I did not request bureaucrat status, but once I here back from requesting sysop status, I will request bureaucrat status, and make you a bureaucrat. I do not know what time zone you live in, but I am going to bed now. Hopefully talk to you tomorrow. Cheers, and thanks for your help. DragonBallZ 05:54, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
I suppose they did not get my message through contacting them. I have asked Angela on her talk page. We should be able to start pretty soon. Sorry for the wait. DragonBallZ 02:41, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Looks like we are going to have to wait for now. DragonBallZ 14:01, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Is this merger going to happen any time soon? I would like to help out but don't want to add to anyones conversion workload. I'm the sysop at the thief wikiSxerks 22:23, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
The community there is inactive, as well DragonBallZ doesn't look like he's around. If someone feels like taking on the manga wiki, they should be free to adopt it and join it into wikia acg. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Oct 7, 2008 @ 02:20 (UTC)

[edit] Vampire princess miyu

First TX for the helpful edits for the helpful edits to the article like flags template and the translation template i spent a 1 hour brainstorming how to port the wikipedia templates before giving up and implementing the methods i used. And TX for all the work you put in fixing my mistakes and omissions. And last but not least i TX you for explaining the WikiText parser thing.
However i do have a question about the subpage "Vampire_Princess_Miyu/Vampire_Princess_Miyu" i understand from my brief stay at wikipedia that subpages are not ok and that categories should be used instead because "the category system supports hierarchical organization while still allowing an article to belong to multiple categories",i don't claim that the view is the correct one however i want to understand the rational behind any decision.Be gentle I'm new. On a side note how can i bring wikiEd to animepedia --IngerAlHaosului 19:31, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Duble redirect

I have a question about the double redirect page Special:DoubleRedirects is it just for demonstration purposes(ex: This is how a double redirect looks like) or is it a list with problems to repair.--IngerAlHaosului 08:13, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New Category and Template

I created a new category and a template to deal with images without copyright information.

That doesn't actually fit the style used here. I'll probably move the category to a more consistent name, and make use of the box css classes, then tweak the template to fit our documentation format. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Apr 17, 2008 @ 08:12 (UTC)

[edit] IRC

Could I get autovoiced on #wikia-acg? (MaximillionJames is my IRC nick) Also, does any of the wikis in Wikia ACG have a IRC Channel? (Narutopedia, yu-gi-oh, etc.) DragonBallZ 22:38, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

No, I will not autovoice anyone. I'm not even auto-oped, much less autovoiced. Voicing and Oping users is contradictory to the point of a wiki environment being open, and new users often avoid speaking to anyone with an op or a voice. And there is no functional reason for anyone to be voiced, the channel is not +m, in fact ChanServ is explicitly set to undo any +m that anyone applies. So no-one can set +m.
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki does have it's own channel, and also a dueling channel. However the other wiki don't have one. I basically direct all wiki in the project to the #wikia-acg channel, and add in new channels whenever a wiki's topic becomes dominant enough inside the channel that it looks like the community is large enough to fit it's own channel without suffering from to much inactivity. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Apr 18, 2008 @ 06:24 (UTC)

[edit] Redirects and yugioh's site id

Alright, no problem. One other thing, is there a problem with this or is it taking a while to apply itself? Animepedia's still listed as our site id on all the ACG stuff. -- Deltaneos 16:25, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Error i do not understand

When i lucked at the template i created before the Template:No license‎ there is an error i do not understand.instead of the image there is "Error creating thumbnail: (rsvg-convert:4439): libgnomevfs-WARNING **: Unable to create ~/.gnome2 directory: Permission denied

[edit] Re: Flag images

"Hey, since you're uploading flag images. Do you feel like having me give you a few tips on how to clean up the image pages. Then tag them for Syncing? I should probably update my TagSync bot to do images instead of using the old ImageMirror bot. But it could potentially get flag images to finally be synced to all Wikia ACG wiki. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Apr 23, 2008 @ 05:29"

 • I have looked at all the image pages and with the exception of throws in the category Category:Candidates for Deletion (No license metadata) there are no unclean pages as for the images in the up mentioned category i will fix there license metadata an rationale next week.
 • As fore the tag them for Syncing part i don't now what Syncing is or how it is done please explain what template to use or what you want me to do, i do not mind doing it manually there are only 190 images in total of witch only 23 are flags.--IngerAlHaosului 07:40, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] .hack//Legend of the Twilight in Other

Why is .hack//Legend of the Twilight classified in Other instead of series on the world page. And on side note are you telling me to change "episode ##" -> "01 The Fang Knows!" --IngerAlHaosului 07:09, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Is this what you mean by move episode, is the page name what you expected is it correct i must know in order to move on and do the rest.

http://anime.wikia.com/index.php?title=Vampire_Princess_Miyu%2FThe_Fang_Knows%21&diff=11955&oldid=11805

Regarding the 2 move pages server error thing how much time is little bit, in minuts,pls.--IngerAlHaosului 09:04, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
.hack//Legend of the Twilight is still classified in other i think that the // part is really braking your mini wiki design isn't there a way to force the software to treat the // as letter you know like Template:! is used to display |, making it that lets say @@ OR \\ or something like that. So the actual page name is ".hack@@Legend of the Twilight" or .hack\\Legend of the Twilight but the displayed name is ".hack//Legend of the Twilight"--IngerAlHaosului 10:49, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Tips

"Let's see...

 * The Dothack wiki is a Wikia wiki, so we can interwiki link to it with LINK TEXT, much cleaner than a url.
 * While nonexistant, the Anime names templates that Wikipedia has do serve a purpose. When you split the character list out into individual articles they contain data good for the infobox.
 * Don't directly use the prefix to refer to another page in the same world. Use ../ so from inside of the Hack world use ../ instead of Hack/, it's far more portable and does not break if we move world names.
 * For the different voice actors we use the template, it serves as a future method of tagging the actors with links to their pages.
~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) May 13, 2008 @ 07:22 (UTC) "

Let's see... 1. I dont understand ?

* While nonexistant, the Anime names templates that Wikipedia has do serve a purpose. When you split the character list out into individual articles they contain data good for the infobox.

2. I agree but if you use ../ in article with have .hack// in the name you get Hack/.hack//Article name ex:Hack/.hack//Balmung. So to avoid this i use hack/, i am not stupid i just don't see a alternative.

* Don't directly use the prefix to refer to another page in the same world. Use ../ so from inside of the Hack world use ../ instead of Hack/, it's far more portable and does not break if we move world names.

3. what shoud i do about this pages:
Image:Shugo_Kunisaki_head.jpg
Image:Rena_Kunisaki_head.jpg
Wath is the corect name
Kunisaki.JPG Image:Rena Kunisaki.JPG
[User:IngerAlHaosului]]e:Shugo Kunisaki.jpg Image:Shugo Kunisaki.jpg]
Wath is the corect name What is the corect licente and fair used

4. And what is it with
anime voices
template, animepedia doesn't have it and its redundant to the
Voice actors
template.

--IngerAlHaosului 09:07, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] anime voices

You wrote "anime voices and Voice actors have two different purposes, and accept two different types of inputs. The purpose of Voice actors is to link a name if it exists, and additionally you should notice that the first input is actually a 2 letter ISO code for language. This is because the template puts names inside of a span tag annotated with the lang attribute. This is useful for Japanese names as it can fix some Japanese words which may occasionally display wrong when in English mode."

i can't agree more, my problem is not with Voice actors my problem is with the "anime voices" template, the problem being THE TEMPLATE IS MISSING as in nonexistent

all you get is red text ex:

 • Template:Anime voices(a link to a nonexistent template) instead of "Voiced by: Junko Minagawa (Japanese), Bryce Papenbrook (English)".

With the above mentioned facts in mind i assume that:

 1. you didn't notice that the template didn't exist
 2. you did notice and you are going to upload it

[edit] Character and episode lists

The problem with the current category listing is that categories only list alphabetically once you start adding characters or episodes from a second series people wont know what char or ep belongs in what series."Turning sections into links as you move sections into individual articles" is a good idea and sums up what i want i will do that.
--IngerAlHaosului 18:57, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Tx for explaining how to use MainS.
--IngerAlHaosului 17:48, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
You wrote: "Episodes are going to have plenty of semantic data applied to them, so we can nicely make the /Episodes pages output the various forms of titles for the episodes, filter by series, output episode number and even sort by that episode number."

I don't see any of this filters now sow i am assuming that this in the future, any TTI(time to implementation) you want to share? Because what i am talking about below is a temporary solution until you implement that semantic filter stuff, a temporary manually created list of episodes and characters sorted by series. With accent on the words Temporary and Manual

--IngerAlHaosului 10:11, 16 May 2008 (UTC) tx for re but i don't understand the mesage:
"^_^ I've simplified some of the linking issues for you. Instead of using Main to add a note with the main page for a section which is actually a sibling page. So instead of ../Characters/ you only need Characters, and since it uses a new ROOTPAGENAME template I drafted up it won't have issues with those .hack pages. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) May 15, 2008 @ 12:29 (UTC)"
Please explain how do i use Characters and ROOTPAGENAME does it have anything to do with what i wrote below? How about what i wrote below?

Here is a practicle example of what i ming User:IngerAlHaosului/Sandbox/character

--IngerAlHaosului 18:37, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

You wrote: "We don't do character lists. If you see a character list it is a unformatted remnant of data which is supposed to be migrated into individual pages." But after the Characters or episodes have there one individual pages don't we need a page that centralizes a the characters or episodes by series i ming the word page is greaten if you want specific character but there is no way of telling what character or episode belong to what series i was thinking of a centralized page like

.hack//Legend of the Twilight

 • link to character page
 • link to character page
 • link to character page
 • link to character page
 • link to character page

.hack//Liminality

 • link to character page
 • link to character page
 • link to character page
 • link to character page

.hack//Roots

 • link to character page
 • link to character page
 • link to character page
 • link to character page

This can be applied to episodes to.

A picture is worth a 1000 word and because i am good at making swf i thought i make a step by step detailed interactive video tutorial on how to transform a article copied from wikipedia into a animepedia article. [edit] Request for Assistance - TabView

Heya

I am having some trouble using the AJAX TabView when setting up Create-plate Templates for new page creation.

After several hours of searching for alternatives, the one I prefer is yours: http://anime.wikia.com/index.php?title=MediaWiki:TabView.js

Mostly because it allows me to keep all of the information on a single page.

The other solution I short listed was the Parser function extension NavContent, but that has the same page dispersal issue as the AJAX TabView.

I actually want to be able to switch between the two options of your script and the AJAX as I can see uses for both.

Thus this is a request for two things:

 • A JS version that doesn't replace the AJAX version.
 • Documentation on installing and using the JS version.

Responses to http://northstar.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:Silvaril please.

Thanks

--Silvaril 00:22, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Heya

I am hoping that something as simple as renaming the JS script and altering the calls appropriately will allow for its use side by side with the AJAX version.

Responses to http://northstar.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:Silvaril please.

Thanks

Heya

My apologies for my lack of clarity.

 1. ) Can you please point me to the Documentation for installing your JS version of TabView onto a Wikia site.
 2. ) Could you please inform me how how to alter your JS, or how your JS is called, such that I can call your JS by a name other than TabView. By example, such that I can call your JS by a name such as DivView.

Responses to http://northstar.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:Silvaril please.

Thanks

--Silvaril 04:55, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Heya

Thank you for your assistance.

And thank you especially for the JS version of tabview.

I have altered the name of the script for use on the NorthStar site to avoid confusion for any new Wikia users editing the site.

Much Appreciated --Silvaril 00:10, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Erm, I have absolutely nothing to do with any of the WikiMedia projects. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Nov 29, 2008 @ 21:47 (UTC)

[edit] Full Metal Alchemist

Hello, The Full Metal Alchemist wiki is a little mess right now, could you return to be its administrator.Thank you very much--User:Sk Nator

[edit] Naruto Wiki Ranks

Err, Hello ^^ ! Well, I looked at the Naruto Wikia and just saw that you done a pretty good(and cool :p) thing with your administrator/rollback/bureaucrat/user/autoconfirmed... user ranks. And so, I'd simply like to know how did you manage to do it, and if possible, how to do it on "my" main-wiki (w:c:bleach).. Well, thank you :p --Mili-Cien

Well, I'd thank you if you do so ;) . Here are the ranks I'd like to have on the wiki :
 • Shinigami Academy's Students (Unregistered)
 • Shinigami(Users)
 • Divison member(Registered users)
 • Seated Officer(rollback rights)
 • Lieutnant (Sysop)
 • Captain (Bureaucrat)

Thanks you(And, if not too asked, will there be links like that : Bleach wiki:Captain to change their descriptions :p ?) ^^ Mili-Cien.

Let's say :

 • Plus (Ano)
 • Shinigami (User)
 • Balancer (Auto-confirmed user)
 • Lieutnant (Rollback)
 • Captain (Sys)
 • Captain Commander(bureaucrat)

...or ?

 • Plus
 • Shinigami
 • Seated Officer
 • Balancer
 • Lieutnant
 • Captain

... Well anyway I don't know, but I kinda prefer the first one :p ... Oh, and for semantic, if I understood, it'll simply make infobox looks "normally", like on DBZ-wiki ? Well, I've no problem about it then ^^ Mili-Cien (Again, thanks you ^^)

Let's go for it then :p Mili-Cien

Err, excuse me for annoying you again(and thanks :p), but can I somehow "withdraw" RulesIndex content from Narutopedia(By withdrawing, I don't mean copy/pasting or exactly same things, just getting the main idea the same, as both are part of Animepedia's project)^^...Well, thanks you :p Mili-Cien

Well, I was not planning on copying at all :p, I was mainly planing and using it to make base for Bleach Wiki rules, but I'll try to make them alone :p . (Err, I looked at the ACG page on main Wikia... Why is Bleach Wiki classed as abandonned ^^ ) User:Mili-Cien

[edit] Lowercase

Hi! I'm one of the sysops at Bleach wiki and I was wondering if you could help me with something. They are some articles that I want the first letter of the title to appear in lower case letters but i don't know how to do it and example of this is Memories in the rainis dysplayed like that but i want it to show up as memories in the rain (fiest letter lowercase instead of uppercase) since that is the accurate title. is this something you could help me with? I appriciate your time and thank you in advance WhiteStrike 23:16, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the explanation. I had a question about skills like Soul Perception or Joe's Lie Detecting. What would they go under? Prismind@yahoo.com 05:19, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] CLAIRE REDFIELDFAN

Yeah, there's a bit of controversy revolvin' around that certain user. He's pretty much spammed in such a particular manner in EVERY wiki site he's been to and has been banned from just about every other wiki because of it. I would suggest a ban/block the next time he attempts. Nearly ten wikis and he's been blocked from every single one, particularly his biggest offensive was at the Inuyasha wiki. —This unsigned comment was made by Kaihedgie (talkcontribs) on 13:14, February 3, 2009.

[edit] Where to start?

Yo, Dantman I'm planning on rewriting some of the content for articles directly copied from wikipedia, and I'd like to know if this is needed/recommended, or whether there's something else that needs to be done first.

[edit] Goldotriomphe

Hello, Dantman.

I am the webmaster of Goldotriomphe 5.1, and i have updated the links to my website on the Mazinger/Grendizer page to my website, from its former address to its current one.

Please do not change them. I'd like for people to be able to visit the "real" updated Goldotriomphe 5.1, as well as the "Monstrogoth Project" page.

If you are able to change the "1" and "2" and are able to actually give the real name of the website instead, I'd be much obliged.

Thanks!

hi!thanks for messaging me.And i really need help right now.How do i make a new page?Can you help me?pls!!!thnx!

[edit] MediaWiki:Common.js [Bleach]

Hey :) Just wondering, due to the high amount of spoiler informations given in page, I'd like to change it to some "personalized" mesage, and I saw an include data from the page there, so, is that possible to add a message on the bleach wiki without troubling others Anime ? Mili-Cien(talk)

"Please, do NOT add any information comming on that page untill the english chapter is released."

Err, well, I probably gave you a wrong js file, apologize, I want it to appear under the Messagebox, like that text there :

"Please note that all contributions to Animepedia are considered to be released under the GFDL (see Animepedia:Copyrights for details). If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then don't submit it here. You are also promising us that you wrote this yourself, or copied it from a public domain or similar free resource. DO NOT SUBMIT COPYRIGHTED WORK WITHOUT PERMISSION!"

Surely, thanks :)

[edit] character infobox template

Something has gone wrong with the coding for the character infobox template, so that it does not show as it is supposed to, or at least, it does not at the bleach wiki, for some reason it is still working at the naruto wiki, could you please look into this as i personaly am unable to locate the proplem. --Gojita 14:32, 23 April 2009 (UTC)Gojita

To be honest i am not entirely sure, which is what, but i have tried to look at with both my laptop and my stationary and neither of them is showing the infoboxes correctly. Perhaps adding that SMW will work, but i don't know, since i am not familar with those requirements. I am a little curious why it does not work with bleach wiki but still works with the Narutopedia --Gojita 16:43, 23 April 2009 (UTC)Gojita
What i am unable to see is the grey infobox around the information that is shown on the Narutopedia. instead all of the info from the character box is just added in the right side without the box around it, thus pushing down the entire article. I think it means that the Bleach wiki needs those codes. --Gojita 17:46, 23 April 2009 (UTC)Gojita
This is what i am seeing using my prefered skin
Now i see the proplem, for some reason it is because i am using the quartz smoke skin, but by using the default that is the one used in screenshot that you gave me, it is working perfectly. Still i like using that skin so could you look into it
Oh well, then i just gotta wait, otherwise thank you for the trouble. --Gojita 18:33, 23 April 2009 (UTC)Gojita

[edit] World Page redundancy

What is happening with the World Pages? Here is an example of what I'm talking about: the Negima entry says, "This is the World Page for Negima." Then it lists a few characters on the left hand side, but the roster is incomplete. On the right hand side is a link to Negima/Characters. This seems terribly redundant. Which feature should remain and which should be eliminated? Are you merging them? Is there a template in need of adjustment? I'm trying to figure out what's going on with that. Until then I'm kind of afraid of being counterproductive by editing them. Moritheil 00:14, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Animebill is back!

After nearly a year and a half I have returned to bring life to some of the old school anime on Animbepeida. Let me know what you think of the work I am doing on the Cutie Honey episodes. Bill Hunsicker 16:57, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

I see. I wondered why Animepedia seemed quiet when I checked in. I was thinking that it was just lack of interest. Do you suggest that I pick my favorite Anime that doesn't have a wiki and create one or continue to add information here until someone creates a wiki for that particular series? Bill Hunsicker 18:55, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for letting me in on your plans. I would hate to have put in a lot of work only to have it deleted when you converted to your new format. Bill Hunsicker 21:40, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
I am considering creating a wiki called "Old School Anime" that will be a home for anime series until individual wikis are created for those series. I guess, in a more limited way, it would be taking over the original purpose of Animepedia. I don't think I can pick a single anime I like and don't want to create a bunch of wikis (even if that were possible, which I'm sure it isn't). I'm also interested in contributing to existing wikis for series I like. What do you think? Bill Hunsicker 02:34, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

So, if I start a wiki, you will let me join it to the ACG and help me get it started? I'm narrowing down which anime I want to start with. My main objective would be to provide a resource for people interested in that anime, not have the most popular wiki on wikia. Bill Hunsicker 01:29, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Nesting collapsible content

I knew that nested NavContent was supported by the wikipedia code but I never bothered with collapsible tables before now.

The nice thing about your contemporary jQuery code is that because it supports additional features like { [show all], [hide all], nesting, selective "nocollapse" } you can very effectively silence any whining from the old-guard who might be temporarily upset about their old-style templates using the wikipedia javascript version becoming deprecated.

With the examples shown in the documentation being as varied and coplex as tey are it was my intent to imply that templates r really not necessary to use this set of ShowHide features.

... now for worksheet style group/ungroup rows !!!  ;-)

[edit] Usage of MediaWiki:Shared.js and MediaWiki:Common.js

I just finished emulating the way you have

 1. MediaWiki:Common.js import from MediaWiki:Shared.js
 2. MediaWiki:Shared.js import from dev.wikia.com

I don't fully appreciate the reason for the additional level of indirection so I thought I'd ask you why this is done.

Possibly related
Should a user be able to specify the values of the following "configuration" variables in their local MediaWiki:Shared.js or MediaWiki:Common.js file just before importing the code from dev.wikia.com ? viz.
// Configure ShowHide localization variables
var autoCollapse = 4;
var hideLabel = "collapse";
var showLabel = "expand";
var hideAllLabel = "collapse all";
var showAllLabel = "expand all";

// import ShowHide code
importScriptPage('ShowHide/code.js', 'dev');.

Of course the more likely localization words would be in another language - e.g FR: fermez, ouvrez, tout fermez, tout ouvrez

I just tried this with the autoCollapse variable (which does the test for previously defined value) but there was no change to the auto-collapse effect. najevi 02:46, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Kyo Kara Maoh

I saw this wiki's character info box and it is perfect for the wiki I am trying to create. However, I have no idea how to apply it and I need serious help. If you cant, please direct me to someone who can. I need this box to display information, it is the easiest way.--Kylecharmed 14:18, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Im not sure what you mean. If I do admit my wiki into the sync quote, the templates will automatically be created for my use on the wiki?--Kylecharmed 20:29, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Okay, sounds good. How do I sync it?--Kylecharmed 21:54, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
So, I put up infoboxes and they looked great, however, they have failed. Now, looking at the template, they have changed, only words, no box. I noticed that the wiki moved, is that the reason? If so, will it be fixed soon?--Kylecharmed 23:49, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Black Cat

Hey! Remember me? I worked with you on Kyo Kara Maoh. I was wondering if you could do the same thing for the Black Cat wiki, you know, adding those infoboxes. It would be a big help, thanks.--Kylecharmed 16:13, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] s-CRY-ed

Never mind Black Cat, I dont think it actually needs the infobox. however, I just started a new wiki, s-CRY-ed, and I want to put that infobox in before I start any character pages.--Kylecharmed 01:05, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] other languages wikis

Hi! I had a question for you. How do I link to wiki's together so it shows the language tab on the side? I'm trying to tie together all the diferent langauge wiki's for Bleach such as Bleach English wiki, Bleach Spanish wiki, Bleach German wiki and so on is there a way that you can show me how to do it? leave me a message either here or at my talk page in Bleach wiki. thank you for your time. WhiteStrike 19:51, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick response, also is it easier to reach you in this wiki or do you mind being reach thru othere wiki's?. Any how is a good thing users like you exits, it makes things easier for us who manage wiki's but are not really to well verse on is ways. WhiteStrike 22:37, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Laputa/Laputa: The Castle in the Sky Page

I saw that it says I made an edit on that page, but I didn't. I think I may have been hacked, or more likely, My sisters friend did it. Now that I think about it, That was probably the case. I know how to edit but I can't redo that entire page >_< I'm sorry.

--Lisoste 04:53, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Editing

I have a small suggestion for this site. You should (if you can), make it so that only people with an account can edit the anime list and such. If you do not, people may decide to post inappropriate things instead of anime. I would personally say that letting just anyone edit this page is a very bad idea. Just letting ya know! XD --Anonymous

thanks for letting me now and for the welcome

[edit] Re: Template

Sorry for not checking, but I'll check next time and if its a major edit I'll post on talk page on animemanga wikia. Btw, Did you look at the ArrayExtension, source code and check if it was suitable for the purpose of sorting Narutopedia Jutsu/Family arrays in the semantic infobox. Simant 22:27, October 28, 2009 (UTC)

Ok then. I'll start again from scratch. I could set a property such as Manga::MangaAnime::AnimeGame::GameMovie::Movie to get around the need for multiple ask queries, since I can't pass variables, but I thought that would be poor use of properties.. Simant 22:50, October 28, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] quote template and gundam.wikia

Does anybody else depend on template:quotes or can I swizzle that around to make life better for us over on gundam.wikia?--Nkuzmik 18:21, October 29, 2009 (UTC)
